All ages. Saturdays 10:00-10:45 AM. Spanish and Korean language storytimes will be on alternate Saturdays.
Bilingual Storytime is open to children of all ages. Children under the age of 5 must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Spanish Bilingual Storytime will be presented on the first and third Saturdays of each month. Korean Bilingual Storytime will be on the second and fourth Saturdays. Bilingual Storytime will be led by Spanish and Korean staff members that work at the circulation desk. These storytimes will follow the format outlined in Storytime Overview. In addition, books will be read in both languages. Books with repetitive phrases and picture books will be used. Props such as felt boards, puppets, and musical instruments will also be used. Songs will be in English and Korean or Spanish. Themes will relate to American culture and traditional Spanish and Korean cultures. A craft relating to the theme will be done each week. The last fifteen minutes of the storytimes will be used for free play. Snacks will be provided.
Staffing: Korean and Spanish members of the Circulation Staff and the Children’s Department Assistant will present this program.
