Family Story & Craft Time

All Ages- Saturday 11:00-11:45 Two Saturdays per month

Family storytime is open to parents or caregivers and their children of all ages. Four to five books will be read, with songs and fingerplay in between. Props such as puppets, a felt board, and musical instruments will be used. Finger-play and circle time will be included. A craft will be done pertaining to the theme of the storytime. The last 15 minutes of storytime will be free play. Family Storytime will follow the format outlined in Storytime Overview. Skills learned- early literacy, kindergarten readiness schools, and sharing. A snack will be served. Handouts with the titles of the books read during the program, song lyrics, book recommendations, and early literacy asides will be distributed to parents and caregivers.

Staffing: The Children’s Librarian and the Children’s Department Assistant will run this program together.
