The monthly theme will be incorporated into all children’s department activities when possible. Storytimes, book clubs, crafts, movies, and special events will all be centered around one or more of the themes. A book display for each monthly theme will be featured in the children’s area.

- January: New Year, New You (health and wellness), Martin Luther King Day.
- February: Valentine’s Day, President’s Day, Black History Month.
- March: Women’s History Month, Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
- April: Spring, Earth Day, Dinosaurs
- May: Outer Space (National Space Day), Mother’s Day
- June: Summer, Father’s Day
- July: Summer Reading Program-Read Around the World.
- August: Summer Reading Program-Read Around the World.
- September: Back to school, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles
- October: Fall, Halloween, Farm Animals
- November: Thanksgiving, Native Americans, Exploration
- December: Winter, Winter Holidays
