Ages Birth through 23 months. Wednesday, 10:00-11:00 AM
Wee Ones Storytime is a lap sit storytime for children ages birth to 23 months. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Wee Ones Storytime will follow the format outlined in Storytime Overview. The storytime will have a different theme each week. All materials and activities will relate to the theme. The librarian will read stories, sing songs, and use props such as puppets and a felt board. A craft project and games will be included. Song pictures books will be read, and all participants will be encouraged to join in. Finger-play and circle time will be included. The last fifteen minutes of each storytime will be free play. Handouts with the titles of the books read during the program, song lyrics, book recommendations, and early literacy asides will be distributed to parents and caregivers. A small snack will be provided.
Staffing: The Children’s Librarian will run the program. The Children’s Department Assistant will help with set up, clean up, and assist during the program as needed.
